Research Experience
Post-doctoral Fellow, Georgia Institute of Technology: January 2006 to present
Graduate Research Assistant, Georgia Institute of Technology: August 2000 to December 2005
- Optimized the 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopic
analytical technique on a large variety of natural organic material.
- Collaborated with Dr. R.J. Weber's research group to characterize
water-soluble organic carbon extracted from ambient aerosols collected in the
Atlanta region, using solution 1H and solid-state 13C NMR
spectroscopy.
- Participated in the National School on Neutron and X-ray scattering
workshop at Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL.
- Conducted research aboard R/V Cape Hatteras to the Bermuda Atlantic
Times-series Study (BATS) site.
Graduate Research Assistant, University of Alberta: August 1998 to July 2000
- Carried out Re-Os isotopic analyses on black shales at different levels of hydrocarbon
maturity, using negative thermal ionization mass spectrometry.
