Role Models

There are so many amazing people out there, both in the past and the present, both famous and not famous, people who have accomplished incredible deeds of courage, of insight, of tenacity in many various fields. Reading about and listening to these people has inspired me and has helped me answer many questions. I want to take this space to recognize some of them and tell others about them and why I think they are amazing. Even though it is not much, it is the least I can do. So here they are, in no particular order:

Dr. Richard Feynman (1918-1988)
Brilliant scientist, artist, and an all-around amazing character
Anousheh Ansari
Businesswoman, explorer, and the first woman space tourist. I almost met her at Oshkosh, she's amazing!
Dr. Anneila Sargent
One of my first astronomy professors, a.k.a. the neutrino professor by her students
Chief Tecumseh (1768-1813)
Dr. J. Michael Fay Queen Elizabeth I of England (1533-1603)
Arguably England's best monarch.
Amelia Earhart (1897-1931)
At a time when pilots were rare and women pilots unheard of, she was one of the best.
Dr. Stephen Hawking
One of my favorite physicists.
Dr. Kip Thorne Lady Diana (1961-1997)
Henri Coanda (1886-1972)
Romanian aeronautics pioneer and inventor.
Aurel Vlaicu (1882-1913)
Romanian pilot pioneer and inventor.
Maj. Nicole Malachowski
The first female Thunderbird, currently a congressional fellow for the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Madeleine Albright
From a little Czech girl, she became the Secretary of State of the United States of America.
